As tensions rise in the Middle East and China sets its sights on Taiwan, the liberal press has praised Joe Biden as the leader of the free world. However, when we take a step back and consider the alternative, it becomes clear that President Biden’s experience is the only thing keeping the world from the brink of Armageddon.
Our troops in Iraq and Syria have come under attack 74 times, with half of those resulting in traumatic brain injuries that last a lifetime. Is it enough to simply lie down and hope for the best?
Jesse points out that Biden’s low bar of not starting World War III should not be celebrated. Running on a platform of avoiding global catastrophe is hardly an accomplishment. Especially when we consider that previous administrations, like Donald Trump’s, managed to avoid initiating new wars and deploying additional troops.
The Hostage Situation and Provocations
There are reports that 10 hostages, including a 10-month-old Israeli boy, have been moved by Hamas to another terrorist group, the Palestinian Islamic Jihadist in the West Bank. This puts us in a difficult position, as we can’t gather proof of life for these hostages. Hamas now has more leverage to emotionally blackmail the families and negotiate for a continued ceasefire.
Furthermore, an Iranian drone recently flew in the Persian Gulf, ignored multiple warnings, and the Pentagon has deemed this interaction as unsafe and unprofessional. It’s clear that these provocations are coming from the other side, and at some point, there will need to be a reaction.
A Different Perspective
Greg brings up an interesting point about how certain people view acts of evil. Instead of recognizing the evil in these actions, they try to justify them by looking at historical context and other factors. However, Joe Biden’s presidency cannot be measured solely by the absence of catastrophic events. There are other pressing issues, such as rising crime rates, the decline of the education system, and anti-American sentiment.
Biden’s Reputation on the World Stage
Jessica argues that blaming Joe Biden for the current situation is unfair. She believes that it’s actually Benjamin Netanyahu who turned his back on pressing concerns in the Middle East. She cites polls showing that Biden’s approval ratings have gone up since the ceasefire began and that he is viewed favorably by world leaders.
Regardless of political opinions, it’s crucial to focus on finding a resolution and ensuring the safety of the hostages. Negotiations should aim for a comprehensive solution that brings control to the region and addresses the underlying issues.
